Architecture as a way of reading the city.

ГРАДОТ УБАВ /ˈɡradɔt ˈubav/ is an association for urban research based in Skopje. We read the city and rethink the urban.

We approach architecture not only as a physical product, but as a cultural, intellectual and interdisciplinary practice: a way of reading society, questioning the present and imagining possible futures for the city.

Our work brings together research, exhibitions, archives and public conversations. We are interested in how architecture responds to social change, how architectural knowledge is passed on between generations, and how the recent architectural history of North Macedonia can be documented, preserved and shared with local and international audiences.

The association works collaboratively, with architects, researchers, students, artists and institutions.
